History

Bultaco was a Spanish motorcycle manufacturer. Originally founded in 1958, they made traditional petrol powered motorcycles until the factory closed in 1983.

On May 17, 2014, on the anniversary of its founding and the birth of its founder, Mr. Paco Bultó, Bultaco announced in London its official return to the motorcycle market, presenting its first prototypes to the world.

At the launch event the company releaved a plan to build the electric Rapitan motorcycle, and the 'Brinco' range of cross over electric mountain bikes.

The bikes were launched with the motto :

'Rock Your Day!'

In 2015, the first release of the Bultaco Brinco was delivered. Intitally limited to a production run of 175, with a white and yellow colour scheme.  This was followed by the Brinco R, available in red or blue from early 2016. Several other models and variants followed, more info on these can be found on the 'Models' page.

In late 2017, rumours started that the company had stopped producing bikes, the spanish website was updated with the message

'#brincosoldout #thankyou'.

The company made its last social media posts in May 2018, and in March 2019 the press confirmed that Bultaco had filed for bankrupcy protection.

The website disappeared in late 2019.

With no Bultaco, support for these bikes is now difficult. This website aims to gather together some of the remaining information from the factory, as well as document some of the common problems and potential repair and upgrade paths that exist for the remaining bikes.
